This policy outlines the terms and conditions for the return of vehicles purchased from our dealership. By purchasing a vehicle from Motorhouse Of Shipley, you agree to the following terms:


1. Return Eligibility and Conditions

1.1 Vehicles must be returned to Motorhouse Of Shipley’s premises. Returns will not be accepted at any other location.

1.2 Once you notify Motorhouse Of Shipley of your intention to return a vehicle, you must:

  • Cease driving the vehicle immediately.
  • Arrange to return the vehicle to our premises within a reasonable time.

1.3 A full inspection of the vehicle will be conducted by Motorhouse Of Shipley before any refunds or exchanges are processed.

1.4 Any mileage over 100 miles from the original supplying mileage (as stated on the invoice) will incur a charge of £3 per mile, which will be deducted from the refund amount.

1.5 Trade value will be given for the returned vehicle, accounting for factors such as:

  • Mileage covered.
  • Wear and tear.
  • Any damage sustained during the time the vehicle was in your possession.
  • Loss of profit to Motorhouse Of Shipley due to the return.

1.6 If an additional owner has been added to the V5 logbook (vehicle registration certificate), a charge will be applied for each additional owner recorded. This charge reflects the devaluation caused by the extra ownership record.


2. Faults and Inspection

2.1 Motorhouse Of Shipley inspects all vehicles to meet our high Motorhouse Standards before handing them over to customers. Therefore, any faults must have occurred during the time the vehicle was in your possession.

2.2 Motorhouse Of Shipley reserves the right to:

  • Inspect the returned vehicle to determine if any faults or issues have occurred during your ownership.
  • Verify that no tampering or modifications have been made to the vehicle.

2.3 Returns will not be accepted if Motorhouse Of Shipley’s inspection determines that:

  • The vehicle has been tampered with or modified in any way.
  • Faults were present at the time of sale but were not disclosed to Motorhouse Of Shipley.

3. Refund Process

3.1 Refunds will be processed only after:

  • A full inspection of the returned vehicle has been completed.
  • Any applicable charges (e.g., mileage, additional ownership records, or damage) have been calculated and deducted.

3.2 Refunds will be based on the trade value of the vehicle at the time of return. The trade value will account for:

  • Mileage added since the time of purchase.
  • Any damage or wear and tear.
  • The loss of profit to Motorhouse Of Shipley caused by the return.

3.3 Refunds will be processed within 14 days of completing the inspection and agreeing on the final refund amount with the customer.


4. General Provisions

4.1 Vehicles must not be driven once you notify Motorhouse Of Shipley of your intention to return them. Continuing to use the vehicle may result in additional charges and may void your eligibility for a return.

4.2 Motorhouse Of Shipley reserves the right to decline a return if:

  • The vehicle does not meet the return conditions outlined in this policy.
  • The inspection reveals tampering, modifications, or issues not present at the time of sale.

4.3 This return policy does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer protection laws.

4.4 Motorhouse Of Shipley reserves the right to modify this policy at any time without prior notice. Any disputes arising from the application of this policy will be governed by the laws of England and Wales.
